I grew up in Fairview, NC, just 12 miles from our home here in Swannanoa. In 2010 I decided to venture out from my work as a landscaper and took a ceramics class, and I’ve been making pots ever since! I graduated from A.B.Tech with an Associate in Arts, and went on to earn my B.A. from UNC Asheville in 2015, just after my 30th birthday. I’m now making pottery in our home studio, growing veggies and herbs, taking care of our small flock of chickens, our two wonderful dogs, our crazy little cat, and doing a few small gardening jobs around town. My partner Matt and I have big plans to build kilns, goat fences and pig pens in the future. Never a dull moment!

My love for growing things, foraging, and eating locally ties in quite well with my work in the studio. I enjoy making functional, quiet forms to accentuate any homegrown meal, locally roasted cup of joe, or arrangement of “weeds” from the yard. I love serving a meal atop a mismatched set of handmade dishes. There’s something wonderful about knowing where your food, and the dish serving it up came from. Cheers!
